What it does
- At 3 a.m. it picks up to three open to-dos where some homework would unblock me: compares prices, researches, drafts the email. It never sends anything.
- At 6:50 it sends one message: what's on today, what it prepared, one question, one idea. Every line has a short id like c7.
- When I reply "c7 done" or tap a button under a line, the to-do is closed, snoozed or acted on without any AI call, and a failure says so loudly.
- On Sundays it reviews its own week, adjusts a few of its own settings (each one undoable) and lists what to fix in the whole system.
How it works
1 · Hears
A plain script gathers my open to-dos, yesterday's conversations, calendar and its own track record. No AI in this step.
2 · Thinks
Claude Opus does the prep and writes the brief under a locked-down profile: no shell, no sending, no house, no money. It returns structured data; scripts do the writing.
3 · Does
One message with ids and buttons, plus a private "Today" page with the full prep and editable email drafts.
What broke
It muted what I read but didn't answer
Its first self-tuning rule silenced a category I never replied to. But I read on my phone without replying. "If I ignore, don't hush them." Silence is not a vote; the rule was removed the same day.
It measured that it was being ignored
In week two it reported that I'd answered 0 of 56 items while asking it fifteen shopping questions by hand. It changed course: fewer repeats, check the evidence before nagging, fold into the live conversation.

The call that mattered
It prepares; I decide. Self-tuning is limited to a short list of settings, and every change can be undone.
